"Havin' a Ball" at the Science Museum of Minnesota


"Havin' a Ball" was brought out of storage for a two day event at the Science Museum of Minnesota and was very well received.

Artist Gene Olson rebuilt the upper portion of the sculpture by adding new elements and a new track to make the piece freestanding.

A mother held her seven month old girl up to the track railing where she would reach out, stop balls, bat them back up the track, and grin

and meanwhile on the other side gramps 88 yrs didn't stop him from using the push rod to move balls into the conveyor.

The spectator watching was great. There were so many people there scratching their heads and smiling.
The new orange track fed by the rotating ring was a crowd pleaser.
